Lost Boys star dies

The Lost Boys star Corey Haim has died from a reported accidental overdose. He was 38.

The former 1980s teen heartthrob's body is believed to have been discovered by his mother early on Wednesday morning at his LA home. He was pronounced dead at Providence St Joseph’s Medical Center.

Haim, who has struggled with drug addiction in the past, shot to fame after starring in 1987's The Lost Boys alongside fellow teen heartthrob Corey Feldman.

The pair would work on other films together, including License to Drive and Dream a Little Dream. They also starred in their own US reality show, The Two Coreys, in 2007.

He also dated Victoria Beckham briefly in the early days of The Spice Girls.

In 2007, Haim spoke about his past drug problems, saying, “I started on the downers which were a hell of a lot better than the uppers because I was a nervous wreck. But one led to two, two led to four, four led to eight, until at the end it was about 85 a day – the doctors could not believe I was taking that much.

“And that was just the Valium – I'm not talking about the other pills I went through.”
